Youth Advisory Council
The Youth Advisory Council, derived from the Youth Commission, consists of students from public, private, and continuing high schools in Riverside County's First District. The Board of Supervisors established the Youth Advisory Council to provide Riverside County youth the opportunities to better improve the state of the districts. Councilmembers convene twice a month to discuss district issues and acquire a deeper understanding of strategies to enrich the communities within their district.
The Youth Commission is divided into five Youth Advisory Councils, one for each respective district, and they congregate approximately twice quarterly. The Youth Commission is a county wide student government program for high school students under the Board of Supervisors. The program allow students the opportunity to serve their community, gain leadership skills, learn about local government, and have their voices heard.
