Born and raised in Riverside, Aleah Medina is a third-generation Riverside native with deep roots in the local community. Her family has owned and operated Zacatecas Restaurant for more than 60 years, a long-standing gathering place that reflects her lifelong connection to service, culture, and community engagement.
Aleah currently serves as a Communications Assistant for Riverside County Supervisor José Medina, working under the direction of the Communications Director to support media, outreach, and digital communications efforts. She is completing her degree in Communications this fall and is gaining hands-on experience across public-sector communications, messaging, and community engagement.
Through her communications work, Aleah helps tell the stories of Riverside’s people, neighborhoods, and priorities, ensuring the community remains at the center of how District 1’s work is shared and understood.
Her leadership journey began at a young age as a member of the Youth Advisory Committee for the California State Assembly, where she served from 2015 to 2018. During this time, she participated in legislative meetings in Sacramento, collaborated with organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, and engaged in local Riverside service projects.
She also served as an instructor with Riverside Youth Judo from 2013 to 2017, providing one-on-one instruction to youth, including children with disabilities, and working closely with families to foster safe and supportive learning environments.
Bilingual in English and Spanish, Aleah is passionate about public service, community advocacy, and civic engagement. She remains committed to serving the Riverside community that shaped her and supporting clear, inclusive communication that reflects the lived experiences of residents.
